By 1965, top British bands had invaded New Zealand airwaves, captivating young listeners at Palmerston North Boys School. Grim Ltd was formed and quickly gained a following through performances at local venues and backing well-known artists. In a city known for its lively music scene, Grim Ltd topped a poll as the top group. Although they ultimately disbanded, their final concert has recently been released after 57 years. The members went on to have successful careers in music and film. Grim Ltd's music, described by critics as raw and punk-like, has been compared to legendary bands from different eras and locations.
