In The Marigolds

COLOUR: Black   EXTRAS: N/A

"In The Marigolds" has a charming, nostalgic sound with influences from South Island. Jim Nothing takes inspiration from bands like The Bats and 3D's, while adding their own groggy guitar style. Featuring Anita Clark on violin, the album also showcases the power-pop energy of Melted Ice Cream alumni, Salad Boys. The production, done by Melted Ice Cream boss-hog Brian Feary, captures the perfect mix of cragginess and spaciousness. While bands like The Enemy offered transcendence-through-destruction, Sullivan's lyrics offer a gentler alternative to the mundane.
